Good afternoon,
We are on track to submit our Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) in September. This is a key step in the approvals process and is the point where we can start sharing the results of our assessments that are required of us.
The EIS brings together more than a year’s worth of technical work and will then be independently assessed as part of the NSW planning process before going on public exhibition for review.
We’ll provide a range of opportunities for you to hear directly from us about this work, and we’ll share more information on these activities soon.
On top of that, we’re looking forward to being back at this year’s Parkes Show (31 August – 2 September). It’s a great opportunity to catch up face-to-face, so I hope to see you there.
In addition, earlier this month we appeared before the NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into Energy-from-Waste, where we had the opportunity to answer questions from the Select Committee and talk about the work underway.
I’m looking forward to sharing everything we’ve been working on with the Parkes community. I know confidence comes from seeing the evidence, not just hearing us talk about it, and we’re getting close to doing that.
As always, if you have any questions or would like to have a chat before then, please get in touch.
Thanks for your continued interest.
Ed Nicholas
Director, Parkes Energy Recovery
We’re in the process of finalising our Environmental Impact Statement (EIS), including detailed technical studies that will provide the site-specific information. We intend to submit this to the NSW Government in September and look forward to sharing these details in the coming months.
Earlier this month we appeared before the NSW Parliamentary Inquiry into Energy-from-Waste, where we answered questions from the Select Committee about the project and the technical work underway for our EIS.
Once Parkes Energy Recovery submits its EIS to the NSW Government, no more consultation with the community is required.
